8 Grocery Items You Should Shop For During A Pandemic

Do you like dried fruit? How's your frozen situation? Pizza lovers, prepare for some good news!

1. Burritos
We’re kicking our list off with a fun one. Not only are burritos a feel-good meal, they are packed with healthy nutrients. A regular burrito consists of beans, rice, lettuce, salsa, cheese and a choice of chicken or beef. This is all served on a delicious flour tortilla. What makes this meal so special exactly? Well, burritos are packed with protein.

2. Ice Cream
So how unhealthy is ice cream? As a kid, all you would hear is how much it rots your teeth. Well it honestly depends on the flavour and quantity. If we are sticking to a regular serving of plain vanilla, ice cream contains around 17 grams of carbs. The average adult needs between 225, to 325 grams per day.

3. Canned Goods
Like this one’s really a shocker... Canned goods are a staple on any emergency food list. Why? Well most canned foods last between 1-4 years. If the cans sit in a cooled environment while in good condition, you may be able to squeeze another couple years out of them.

4. Frozen Vegetables
Let’s pay a little more attention to freezer foods. And no, I don’t mean ice cream sandwiches this time. How are you doing on veggies? In situations of emergency, you’ll want to have access to as many vegetables as you can.

5. Dried Fruit
While vegetables have their own benefits, fruits are also a necessity. Dried fruits are a great addition to your pantry in times of need. This means fruit that has all the water content removed through drying methods. This includes everything from raisins, dates, prunes, apricots and peaches.
